For over forty years, Rocca delle Macie has been the dream of producing a quality wine from the Chianti Classico region. The history of the company and the tradition of one of the most famous and appreciated Tuscan wines in the world are inextricably intertwined.
The real protagonist is Italo Zingarelli, the film producer of "C'eravamo tanto amati" by Ettore Scola and the film series with the couple Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, who in 1973 decided to pursue his dream of buying an estate to cultivate wine in the heart of Chianti Classico. His love for the Tuscan land is handed down to his sons Sergio, Sandra and Fabio, who today cultivate their father's dream and bring the company to the forefront in the world of wine.
Today the company has about 500 hectares, of which over 200 are vineyards and about 22 are olive groves, divided between the six estates owned: Le Macìe, Sant'Alfonso, Riserva di Fizzano and the Tavolelle in the Chianti Classico area, Campomaccione and Casamaria in Maremma in the Morellino di Scansano area. Respect for the environment and sustainability, together with the right balance between tradition and innovation, are the common denominators.
The Rocca delle Macie wines are born from the desire to express the territory through the cultivated grapes. The result is a wine of character, harmonious and elegant. The spearheads are Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico and Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico Riserva, children of the Tuscan tradition, which are accompanied by wines from the estates owned by the Zingarelli family.
