The Agricultural Society L'Antica Fornace di Ridolfo was born from the passion and will of two brothers: Carlo and Daniele Cantalici.
Their adventure in wine production began towards the end of the 90s, in Castagnoli, a small village of medieval origin, in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico area of Siena.
From the passion for this land, their wines are born, and the love for the vineyards that animates the two brothers every day, makes that from the vine to the cellar everything is followed in detail to give life to full-bodied and balanced wines.
The vineyards of the company, are located in three different areas, each characterized by different environmental conditions and training techniques. Here Sangiovese is mainly cultivated, which is the main grape in many of the company's labels; alongside this vine are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia, Canaiolo, Trebbiano Toscano and Foglia Tonda.
The grapes are harvested by hand and aged in French oak barrels, barriques and steel vats.
Since 2015 the company has obtained organic certification for its wines, alongside other products such as a very good extra virgin olive oil, a balanced vinsanto and an excellent grappa.
A visit to the Cantalici winery is an experience of simplicity and genuineness, in a family environment. It will be a pleasure for you to visit the production part, then the wine-making and ageing cellar, and then discover the historical part that gives the company its name: an ancient furnace dating back to 1500.
The visit will be followed by a tasting of Cantalici products: wines, vin santo, extra virgin olive oil. We offer three different types, the choice is yours
