The Calatroni family

In 1964 grandfather Luigi bought the land that two generations of the Calatroni family have been working as sharecroppers. We began our venture producing traditional wines from Croatina and Barbera grapes, but from 2002 on, under the guidance of brothers Cristian and Stefano, the youngest generation of the family, the focus has more and more shifted to Pinot Noir. We vinify the noble grape as a red wine and especially as white and rosé Metodo Classico sparkling wines. The current production of Metodo Classico has reached 100.000 bottles, all carrying the Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG.

“The first vintage of our Metodo Classico sparkling wines was in 2008. Right from the very beginning, we had a clear vision of the style of our Metodo Classico: elegant, fresh, mineral bubbles, that must be the truest expression of the grape, of the soils where it’s planted and the peculiarities of the vintage”

Today, the Calatroni brothers grow about 25 hectares of organic vineyards with the invaluable help of their parents Fausto and Marisa, embracing sustainability as the core value of their philosophy of work. In recent years we opened our agriturismo and launched our hospitality program.

Here is the program for Saturday, October 10th: 10:30 AM - TREKKING THROUCH THE VINEYARDS The experience begins with a 4 km walk through the vineyards. Our guide will lead you through the emotion and benefits of walking in contact with nature, awakening all your senses and memories. 12:00 PM - GUIDED TOUR OF THE WINERY Discover how must transforms into wine with a guided tour of the winery. 01:00 PM - THREE-COURSE MENU LUNCH WITH 4 WINES Lunch includes a tasting of 4 of our wines paired with a starter, a first course and a dessert. Io e mia moglie abbiamo ricevuto una esperienza di laboratorio di produzione pasta ripiena fresca. L'esperienza è stata molto interessante, bella ed interessante... Dopo aver prodotto abbiamo fatto un giro alla cantina Calatroni... Tutto molto interessante... Il tutto si è concluso a pranzo con un buonissimo antipasto, la pasta ripiena da noi prodotta, una buonissima torta di mele e con la degustazione di ottimi vini ad ogni portata. Grazie per l'accoglienza e per la professionalità!

Location molto bella e suggestiva, l'esperienza della vendemmia molto particolare e coinvolgente. la guida ci ha illustrato in modo molto soddisfacente tutto il processo di produzione del vino con le tecniche esistenti e quelle da loro usate nell'azienda agricola. terminare con il pranzo permette di assaporare anche i diversi calici di vini prodotti in questa azienda agricola. consigliato anche per persone con eventuali intolleranze in quanto il personale risulta molto attento. esperienza perfetta

PICNIC + GUIDED TOUR + WINE TASTING (4 WINES)

Picnic in vigna con visita e degustazione. Stata una bella esperienza formativa e sensoriale. Giro in cantina molto interessante, degustazione perfetta in atmosfera amichevola. Picnic in vigna è stata una esperienza inaspettata. Mezzo la vigna guardando bellissimo paesaggio, ascoltando il suono del ruscello, suono di una leggera brezza anche suoni di cicale ti fa proprio staccare la mente dalla vita quotidiana, dal solito tram-tram. Sicuramente tornerò ancora e consiglierò a miei familiari.

La visita guidata a vigna e cantina è stata molto interessante. Il Sig. Roger ha fornito tantissimi elementi conoscitivi sulla tecnica di vinificazione. Poi è arrivato il momento del pranzo con abbinamento e degustazione vini. I piatti erano davvero squisiti, prepararti con ingredienti di qualità ed improntati alla migliore tradizione locale. Che dire dei vini? davvero eccellenti, in particolare gli spumanti. Devo anche esprimere un elogio per l'organizzazione, oltre che per la gentilezza del personale e dei proprietari. Veramente bravi!
