Taurasi DueCape D.O.C.G. by Azienda De' Gaeta is a fine wine from 100% Aglianico grapes grown in the characteristic Appezzamento vineyard in Castelvetere sul Calore (AV). This wine is distinguished by its east-southeast exposure at an altitude of 490 meters, ideal conditions for ripening the grapes.
The predominantly clay and silty soil, with a moderate presence of limestone, enhances the intrinsic qualities of Aglianico. Using the Guyot training method, the vineyard has a planting density of 4,500 vines per hectare and a singular yield per vine with 1.1 kg per plant from the 2009 harvest.
Vendemmia and Vinification are carried out manually between late October and early November. Special vinification involves a long 21-day maceration, followed by aging for 24 months in steel and an additional 12 months in 500-liter tonneaux, ensuring a complex and unique aromatic profile.
The Taurasi DueCape D.O.C.G. has an alcohol content of 13.36% and is recommended to be served at a temperature of 18°C, uncorking the bottle an hour before consumption to enhance its organoleptic notes.
