Experience information
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with a brief introduction to the history and philosophy of our winery before embarking on an engaging tour of our cellar. You will have the opportunity to see the concrete tanks used for winemaking and aging, followed by a visit to our aging area with barrels and the classic method aging cellar.
The tour concludes with a guided tasting of six wines, perfectly paired with a selection of local delicacies such as cold cuts, cheeses, bread, and homemade jams.

In the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese hills, between Montecalvo Versiggia and Santa Maria della Versa, lies Cantina Tàia, a small artisanal winery where wine tells a family story spanning generations.
The vineyards were purchased by great-grandfather Carlo and grandfather Alfredo, and since then have been part of the Scarabelli family life. For many years, the grapes were sold to local wineries, and the wine was produced only for the family, as was done in the past.
After spending some years abroad, Stefania Scarabelli returned to her roots to transform that tradition into a personal project. Thus, in 2022, Cantina Tàia was born.
The name holds a simple and affectionate story: “Tàia” was the nickname used by her grandparents and parents for Stefania as a child, but only when she did something good.
The winery aims to be just that: something good, crafted with attention, care, and respect for the land.
The vineyards cover about 15 hectares between 300 and 600 meters above sea level, on predominantly calcareous soils ideal for producing elegant and fresh wines. The signature grape is Pinot Noir, which finds one of its most authentic expressions in these hills, used for both red wines and sparkling bases. Alongside it, Riesling Renano, Chardonnay, Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Barbera, and Croatina are cultivated.
Visiting Cantina Tàia means entering a small reality where wine is born from teamwork and a connection to the land. Among panoramic vineyards and a dedicated tasting room, guests can closely discover the work in the vineyard and winery, tasting wines that authentically convey the character of Oltrepò Pavese.
Tastings are conducted in small groups, offering an intimate, authentic, and personal experience.
