Perfect for beginners, "THE BASICS" is an engaging wine tasting experience in La Morra designed to introduce guests to the most representative grape varieties of the Langhe: Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore, and Langhe Nebbiolo DOC. The tasting will take place in a restored 18th-century Ciabòt in Rocchettevino, just outside La Morra, and will skip the wine tour to focus on the wines and how to taste them correctly.

Led by passionate wine experts, the session includes tips on tasting techniques, helping newcomers understand the aromas, structure, and expression in the glass. This is an ideal experience for those with little time or who want to take their first steps into the world of Piedmontese wines.

The tastings are accompanied by artisan grissini and fresh water, all in a relaxed and intimate setting surrounded by the gentle hills of the Langhe.

Host information

We are Ghëddo, a small and young winery. No noble coats of arms, no grand past—just the story of our land, which we live with respect and passion.

We cultivate about three hectares of vineyards. A modest size that allows us to care for each plant, understand the soil we walk on, and make conscious choices. Three principles guide us: respect for the ecosystem, making good wine, and having fun while doing it.

Our vineyards are located in La Morra, but we also work in Roddino, in Roero, and in the Tortona area. The winery is in Monforte d’Alba, in the Bussia area. Our tasting room, the “Ciabòt”, is just outside the village of La Morra.

The Ciabòt di Rocchettevino is an 18th-century building on two levels. On the lower floor, there is still the old well, now accompanied by a bathroom and a storage area. On the upper floor, once a refuge for farmers, we welcome guests in a warm and authentic environment. The ancient fireplace has been transformed into a modern wood stove.

In 2021, we carefully restored the Ciabòt, recovering architectural elements and original wooden furnishings. We are in the heart of the wine landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we proudly preserve its identity.

Our wines tell the story of each vintage as it is, without masks. Everything starts in the vineyard and continues in the winery with precision and clarity. It is the same clarity we seek in the glass: clean, true aromas that speak of us and our land.

We had the loveliest tour and tasting with owner Anastasia! She was so generous with her time and was patient with our questions. Their dedication to sustainable methods and control in the product they make was very impressive. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area. Off the beaten path and such a hidden gem with outstanding wine. Thank you for such a wonderful visit!
