Wine which has a very important name for the winery, Aldo in fact was Maurizio's father, the wine is produced from vines planted in 1954. This great wine with its balanced elegance represents at its best the expression of how we see Merlot in Bolgheri.

Vinification: 20 / 25 days in new French oak barriques

Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels, strictly first passage, suitable for a Merlot of this caliber

Alcohol content: 14.5% Vol.

Annual production: 5.000 bottles

Color: limpid purple-red color with a beautiful ruby-red rim, dense in the glass.

Scents: to the nose it shows a nice complexity, well present scents of red and black fruits such as blueberry, raspberry and cherry. Presence of flowers such as red roses in particular, well evident notes of officinal plants such as oregano, marjoram, laurel and vegetal notes such as cypress and fig leaf.

Taste: structured and warm, it has an entry characterized by a pleasing smoothness, enveloping and balanced tannins, the spicy aroma of black pepper is confirmed. The finish is pleasantly long.

Food Match: paccheri with game ragout, tagliatelle with pigeon, roasted pigeon, thrushes, duck Grana Cheese 20-24 months

Perfect dish: roast pigeon with spinach.

Fattoria Terre del Marchesato is a small winery managed by the Fuselli family. Vineyards are located in the heart of the best production area of Bolgheri, right in the middle of the plots of land from which are produced the most renowned wines of the area such as Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Guado al Tasso.

The territory has an ancient rural history, in which nobles and sharecroppers have often lived together and cooperated. Terre del Marchesato, whose name is inspired to the old Marquis who owned the land before 1954, is a piece of this history. Definitively converted into a winery in 1998, the company has adhered since the beginning to the DOC Bolgheri.
