The name of the winery Contadi Castaldi is a synthesis of the thousand-year history of Franciacorta, its 19 communes and their vocation for exceptional agriculture.

The "contadi" were, in medieval times, the counties of Franciacorta.

The "castaldi," on the other hand, were the lords of the counties to whom the government of the lands was entrusted.

Contadi Castaldi was born from a love of the land and lifelong memories. Here, once upon a time, stood the Biasca kiln, an ancient building that, thanks to the passion of Vittorio and Mariella Moretti, has found new life and has been transformed into a splendid winery.

In the second half of the twentieth century, Vittorio bought the now disused kiln to preserve the sweet childhood memories of Mariella, who used to spend her afternoons in the place that belonged to her godmother. When Franciacorta reached its heyday in the 1980s, Vittorio and Mariella decided to convert the kiln into a winery, giving birth to Contadi Castaldi.

The large spaces and long tunnels of the kiln proved perfect for refining fine Franciacorta wines and welcoming wine enthusiasts looking for a weekend in Franciacorta in the name of wine excellence. The ancient kiln keeps its soul intact, reflecting the sobriety and style of Lombard wineries.

Esperienza diversa dalle solite visite con degustazione. Appena arrivati siamo stati accolti nell' "ambiente" della cantina dove ci sono stati illustrati non solo gli aspetti produttivi, ma anche la storia del marchio con aneddoti e racconti di come si é arrivati all'azienda odierna. Molto preparata e gentile la guida che ci ha accompagnato nel percorso di vinificazione con ampia descrizione dei metodi utilizzati e cortesia nei chiarimenti richiesti. Degustazione finale eccellente con apprezzata qualità dei prodotti proposti. Visita assolutamente da provare!!

Visita alle cantine, circa 20 minuti, con guida. La tempistica è ottima perché più lunga potrebbe risultare noiosa e interessante solo per gli esperti. E poi avevamo fame :) Ci hanno regalato un calice a testa (proprio il bicchiere, da portare a casa), ed erano inclusi due vini in assaggio (un brut e un rosé), e lo street food era molto buono (abbiamo preso un panino con la tartare di fassona, davvero ottimo). personale sempre molto gentile sia all'ingresso che nel comprensorio. Molto bene i controlli anti-covid.

Abbiamo recentemente visitato le cantine Contadi Castaldi Ed è stata un esperienza bellissima. La “guida” è stata bravissima spiegandoci con dovizia di particolari sia la storia della Franciacorta che della cantina che si trova in un’antica fornace che il procedimento di ottenimento di questo fantastico prodotto. Per ultimo in un ambiente bellissimo ambiamo degustato 4 ottimi prodotti della cantina… tutto veramente indimenticabile…
