Vino alla Mandorla

Almond wine is a wine made from a blend of white grapes from local varieties, grown mainly in the Marsala and Mazara del Vallo areas, to which almond flavouring is added.

With its yellow colour and persistent, mellow aroma, it is a real find for anyone who loves sweet wines but, above all, for almond lovers. The sweet, velvety flavour it leaves on the palate at the first sip is its winning feature; it’s the reason why you simply have to take another sip.

As soon as the bottle is opened, its delicate yet distinct and elegant almond aroma quickly reaches the nose, making this wine irresistible. It is a Sicilian speciality well worth trying and savouring, so as not to miss out on its deliciousness.

This almond-flavoured wine pairs well with all almond-based desserts, such as the marzipan biscuits typical of Sicily, or other dishes enriched with almonds. It also pairs well with other desserts, and one particularly delicious thing you can try is pouring it over ice cream.

Its most notable characteristic is that it keeps extremely well even several years after opening. This is due to the alcohol content – 16.5 per cent ABV – which ensures the wine keeps better.
