Vermouth Rosso
Alagna Vini | Baglio Baiata
Product information
Vermouth, in particular red Vermouth made with Nero d’Avola grapes, is produced using a selection of local aromatic herbs, spices and roots, which give the liqueur a distinctive and complex character. The herbs are hand-picked in the Sicilian countryside, then carefully selected and infused in neutral alcohol to extract their unique aromas and flavours. This blend is then enriched with the addition of base wine, sugar and other secret ingredients, thus creating an enveloping and irresistible elixir.
Vermouth has deep roots in Sicilian culture, dating back to the times of ancient Rome and continuing to thrive in the heart of the island over the centuries.
Sicily, with its wealth of aromatic herbs and spices, provides fertile ground for the production of this unique aperitif. The influence of the various civilisations that have passed through the island throughout history has helped to create a rich and varied tradition of Vermouth production in Sicily.
Vermouth enchants the senses with its complex and balanced flavour profile. On the nose, it reveals notes of fresh citrus, aromatic herbs, exotic spices and a hint of sweetness. On the palate, it reveals a pleasant combination of bitterness, acidity and sweetness, with a lingering and satisfying finish. Vermouth is perfect for enjoying on its own as an aperitif, but also lends itself beautifully to a wide range of classic and contemporary cocktails.
Vermouth is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of ways in cooking and mixology. Add a splash of Vermouth to your sauces to enhance their flavour, or use it to marinate meat and fish before cooking.
