Product information
The Malvasia is a family of ancient and widely grown grape varieties, native to the Mediterranean region and cultivated mainly in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece. These grape varieties are used to produce a wide range of wines, both white and red, and are particularly prized for their versatility and aromatic characteristics.
Malvasia fortified wine is a dessert wine with a deep, captivating aroma and a brilliant golden colour. Its distinctive flavour envelops the palate and, thanks to its deep sweetness, soothes the senses, making it a wine much appreciated by almost everyone who has the chance to taste it.
Malvasia wine is known for its intense and complex aroma, which includes notes of flowers, tropical fruit, citrus, honey and spices. In sweet wines, such as this one, the aromas can be even more concentrated and rich.
Malvasia is ideal with desserts such as fruit tarts, biscuits, shortbread and almond- or honey-based sweets. It is also perfect with blue-veined and tangy cheeses. It is a very versatile wine as it pairs well with a variety of dishes.
Furthermore, Malvasia wine is excellent to sip at the end of a meal for a sweet and enveloping finish.
As a dessert wine, it pairs perfectly with all sweet treats, particularly baked goods and dry pastries.
It is produced by adding alcohol during fermentation to halt the process and preserve the grape’s aromas.
