Product information
The LANNI' is a smooth blend of Nero d’Avola, Syrah and Merlot, aged in barrels previously used to mature fortified wines, in order to develop notes of tobacco and cherry.
The grapes are harvested late to give the wine more intense colours and aromas.
It is well-balanced, full-bodied, with intense aromas, and a tannic flavour that is not harsh but persistent.
The wine is unfiltered to preserve even more of its aromas.
It pairs well with roasts and mature cheeses.
The Lannì offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits such as cherries, plums and blackberries, alongside spicy notes of black pepper, liquorice and, at times, tobacco. On the palate, it has a more distinctive and rounded flavour than typical red wines. This distinctive character stems precisely from its ageing in barrels previously used to age fortified wines. Lannì is a wine originating from the Alagna winery.
Like all red wines, it pairs perfectly with grilled, braised and roasted red meats. The wine’s tannins help to cut through the richness of the meat, enhancing its flavours whilst counteracting the reduced salivation caused by chewing red meat. This creates a remarkably pleasant contrast that ensures the unique flavour of Lannì wine will not be easily forgotten.
In conclusion, Lannì represents the very best of Sicilian viticulture, combining tradition and innovation to offer a wine of great character and quality. With its complex aromatic profile and versatility in food pairings, it is ideal for accompanying a wide range of dishes and for enjoying on various occasions.
