In the cellar
After destemming and light crushing, alcoholic fermentation of the must begins in steel tanks. Maceration on the skins lasts about 5 days, during which periodic delestage and punching down are carried out to ensure a delicate extraction of color and aroma. Soft pressing of the pomace follows and the wine is then matured in steel tanks on the fine lees. The second fermentation, which lasts 3-4 weeks, takes place in steel autoclaves. The wine is then bottled.

Organoleptic characteristics
Typical wine of Piave in its freshest and liveliest version. In the glass it has a brilliant ruby red color and a compact, rosy froth. The nose has sweet scents of red berries, in particular wild strawberries and raspberries, citrusy hints of blood orange and pleasant floral notes of violets. On the palate there is a discreet tannin and the characteristic acidity is well balanced by a discreet sweetness, in a balanced structure in which the effervescence enhances aromas and flavors, leaving the mouth elegantly clean.

Host information

Terre Grosse, named after the clay soil where it is located, is situated on the right bank of the river Piave and tells a story of family, traditions, hard work, passion for the land and enhancement of local varieties such as Raboso and Grapariol.

Since 1931, when the company was born with grandfather Pietro Toninato, 4 generations have succeeded each other and since 2012 it has undertaken a path that aims at a more careful and environmentally friendly management, using the most modern knowledge and technologies. Certified organic since 2018, the interventions on the vineyard exclude synthetic products and are aimed at creating as much as possible a natural balance.

The history of the family remains strongly rooted in this land: carrying on this work is a way to revive it every day, with new emotions and motivations.
