Pairings
A wine with intense aromas, it goes well with preparations rich in aromatic herbs and spices. Try it with the traditional board of cold cuts and typical cheeses.
Winery
From vineyards over 50 years old, we hand-pick the bunches of our Cabernet Franc. After pressing we start the alcoholic fermentation of the must in steel tanks, leaving it to macerate on the skins for about 15 days with periodic delestage and punching down to ensure a good extraction of color and aroma. This is followed by soft pressing and maturation of the wine in steel tanks on its noble lees. Maturation in steel allows the preservation of the freshest and most characteristic aromas of this grape variety.
Organoleptic characteristics
In the glass it shows a beautiful ruby red color with violet reflections, an almost impenetrable chromatic texture and a discreet consistency. Slight vegetal notes of fresh grass are accompanied by ripe wild blackberry and blueberry. A floral fragrance anticipates a pungent spice of green pepper and coriander. It closes with hints of damp earth. The sip is dry and expresses itself in all its frankness with a gentle tannin and a good freshness. The aromas perceived by the nose are then found on the palate in a long aromatic persistence which recalls the spicy flavors.
Host information
Terre Grosse, named after the clay soil where it is located, is situated on the right bank of the river Piave and tells a story of family, traditions, hard work, passion for the land and enhancement of local varieties such as Raboso and Grapariol.
Since 1931, when the company was born with grandfather Pietro Toninato, 4 generations have succeeded each other and since 2012 it has undertaken a path that aims at a more careful and environmentally friendly management, using the most modern knowledge and technologies. Certified organic since 2018, the interventions on the vineyard exclude synthetic products and are aimed at creating as much as possible a natural balance.
The history of the family remains strongly rooted in this land: carrying on this work is a way to revive it every day, with new emotions and motivations.
