Carmignano

Carmignano is one of the oldest wine denominations in Tuscany, with a tradition dating back to the Grand Duchy and the introduction of Cabernet Sauvignon as early as the 17th century, centuries before it became common elsewhere in Italy. Sangiovese remains the main grape, complemented by Cabernet in a historic and distinctive blend. The area, just minutes from Florence and Prato, offers tastings in often historic wineries, among Medici villas and hills cultivated with olive and vine.
