Founded in 1870, Barone Pizzini is one of the oldest wineries in Franciacorta and is the first to produce Franciacorta from organic viticulture.
The conversion begins in 1998, in 2001 the vineyards get the certification and in 2005 the first Franciacorta from certified organic viticulture is sold.
Today there are about 60 hectares cultivated in organic by Baron Pizzini, divided into 30 parcels scattered around Franciacorta.
The primary objective of the company is to produce quality wines closely linked to the territory. Hence the choice to rely on organic farming.
The tour starts with a video that tells the story of Barone Pizzini, explains the working method and reveals some curiosities related to the company.
After that, the first look is at the vineyard, the principle of everything: we start from there, to breathe our essence and to observe how the rules of organic viticulture are realized.
Returning to the cellar, built with green building criteria, we continue in the two main areas: the first dedicated to winemaking and the second that contains barriques and bottles aged on the lees. The guide explains the production method and philosophy of Baron Pizzini.
