Discover Sassotondo: A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Maremma, Tuscany
Nestled between the tufa landscapes of Pitigliano and Sovana lies Sassotondo, a winery that blends history, tradition, and a passion for winemaking. Established in 1990 by Edoardo Ventimiglia and Carla Benini, Sassotondo is more than just a winery—it's the realization of a dream. Leaving urban life behind to embrace agriculture, the couple transformed 72 hectares of neglected land into a flourishing organic vineyard, now renowned for its artisanal wines and deep respect for the environment.
Visit Sassotondo for a Genuine, Commission-Free Experience.
Stroll through the vineyards where Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese, and Merlot grapes thrive, explore our unique underground cellar carved into volcanic tuff, and discover how Sassotondo's refined and elegant wines express the power and mystery of their volcanic terroir. We offer guided tours, personalized tastings, and introductory seminars on viticulture and winemaking that allow you to fully immerse yourself in the wine culture of Maremma.
