For generations, the Fraccaroli family from San Pietro in Cariano, known as Matio, has been dedicated to cultivating vineyards in the charming town of San Pietro in Cariano, specifically in the Cariano area of Valpolicella Classica.
In 1946, grandfather Giovanni, returning from the war, transitioned from solely producing grapes to transforming them into Valpolicella and Recioto wines. This marked the beginning of our family's winemaking journey with the first two hectares in the Cariano area.
The tradition and work continued under the guidance of father Mario, who, with great passion and dedication, focused on caring for the vineyards and the winery; he led the company to bottle and sell wine directly, adding the production of Amarone and Ripasso. Supported by the passion and tenacity of mother Teodora, they acquired vineyards in Fumane, Gargagnago, and Palazzolo.
In 2010, after completing his studies in oenology, the baton was passed to son Flavio, who, attentive to the traditional teachings from his father and his own studies, continues the business with the same passion for producing these great wines. Together with his sister Daniela, we manage the vineyards, winery, and hospitality. It is possible to visit the company and taste the wines by appointment.
From here, we obtain the classic wines of Valpolicella. The young and fresh Valpolicella Classico Superiore, the elder brother Valpolicella Ripasso, the austere yet engaging Amarone, and the delightful Recioto. These are accompanied by the fresh and summery Rosa del Basilio and the family selection produced in limited edition: Teodora, fruity and young, dedicated to the mother, and the structured and important Amarone Mario.
