Description:
The visit begins with a walk through our vineyards on terraces made by lava stone walls of the Etna, a unique terroir. We tell the history of the family and his traditions, we will show our autochonous vineyard and we will visit our traditional Palmento, a place built in black lava stone basins, the winery’s vinification area of the past. The tasting will be accompanied by bread and breadsticks
Torre Mora is a magical place that extends on the North-East side of Etna, at an altitude ranging between 650 and 800 m above sea level, to be exact in Rovittello...A place where time seems to have stopped completely.
The estate covers 13 hectares of vineyards, all planted on the typical terraces of Mount Etna, the Scalunera as the locals called it, the lava stone walls reminiscent of large black staircases and where the Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante find their home.
There where the earth exudes heat, the warmth of a volcano still active and that gives us, between one eruption and another, precious mineral elements that give the soil a surprising fertility. But it is the temperatures that play a fundamental role. Between day and night there is a temperature range that generates a real microclimate, fundamental for the ripening of our fruit. A perfect synergy that makes the difference and gives us elegant wines that release incredible aromas and scents.
Once you enter Torre Mora, there between the steps of an open-air amphitheatre, you can admire the historic residence belonging to the Piccini family, Villa Vidalba, and the traditional lava stone millstone, once an almost mystical place where all the winemaking processes took place, today, however, recovered and used as a tasting room.
You can still breathe the smell of our past. A unique experience to know and live.
