Celsus is our Vermentino DOC Colli di Luni Superiore, obtained exclusively from grapes grown in Celso, in the area of Fosdinovo (MS) at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level. The grapes are then selected for quality and exposure.
Celsus is produced in limited quantities and is vinified in purity by making a light maceration on the skins.
Its structure enhances the main characteristics of Vermentino: it is a wine with an intense straw yellow colour, complex and fruity aromatic impact, pleasant and enveloping taste with a bitterish aftertaste.
We recommend it in combination with fish dishes, white meat and traditional Lunigiana dishes.
To be served preferably at a temperature of 10°, Celsus has an alcohol content of 13.5%.

Host information

We are located in Castelnuovo Magra (SP), in the area overlooking the archaeological site of the ancient city of Luni and where Liguria and Tuscany meet.

Our family, from generation to generation, has been cultivating vineyards in a hilly area close to the sea since the late '70s, overcoming the harshness of a hard and stony ground. The vineyards of about 10 hectares located in the Colli di Luni DOC area, extend between Fosdinovo (MS), Sarzana (SP) and Castelnuovo Magra (SP) where we also find the winery.

Ancient and precious grapes, ours, which maintain a strong link with the tradition of the territory: Sangiovese and Vermentino, of which we exalt with love the main characteristics and preserve their authenticity. Symbol of the company is the statue stele, a monument of prehistoric times and uncertain date found in Lunigiana. Its re-proposal on the label, revisited in a modern key, throws a symbolic bridge with the memory of the place.
