Alagna Vini | Baglio Baiata
Product information
The Amarsa amaro is exclusive to the Alagna winery in Marsala, which is the only producer of this wine.
The term ‘Amarsa’ is derived from the combination of the words ‘Amaro’ and ‘Marsala’, creating a union – almost like a warm embrace – that perfectly reflects the unique flavours of this wine, which burst in the mouth upon tasting and delicately envelop the palate.
Amarsa is based on Marsala Fine, to which digestive herbs are added to give it a more persistent and distinctive flavour. The addition of various flavours, such as gentian and orange, makes this aromatised wine much more palatable. However, as it is an amaro, it should be drunk at the end of a meal, like a normal digestif. That said, it is also a versatile wine as it can be used in the preparation of various cocktails.
Another notable difference between Amarsa and the usual bitters we are accustomed to is the alcohol content. All bitters generally have a much higher alcohol content than Amarsa, which is only 21 per cent.
The lower alcohol content is due to the presence of Marsala Fine.
Thanks to its uniqueness, it is perfect for enjoying in company by the fireside, to spend moments of total relaxation, thanks to its unique ability to warm the soul of anyone who savours even a single drop.
