The Torre Raone winery is located in the municipality of Loreto Aprutino, an area with a vocation for viticulture. It is situated on the gentle hillsides, 350 m above sea level, halfway between the Adriatic Sea and the Gran Sasso National Park, which favor a perfect microclimate for grape growing.
The Torre Raone estate was established in 1997 when farmer Luciano, a native of Tollo, decided to buy a 35-hectare farm and immediately allocate it to the cultivation of vines and olives under organic farming, certified by the ICEA. The great passion for wine is closely linked to the desire to enhance native grape varieties, thus producing elegant wines with character.
Since 2014 Dante, the winery's winemaker, has followed all stages of production, from the maniacal care of the vines in the vineyard continuing then with careful production in the winery equipped with modern winemaking equipment. The goal is to preserve and enhance the raw material thus producing wines of the highest quality.
Visits to the Farm are a true immersion in the Organic world: a walk through the vineyards to discover rural biodiversity and the flavors of true nature.
During the walk through the vineyards of the Torre Raone Farm, we will tell about the farm philosophy that led from the beginning to the choice of organic, certified cultivation, which aims to respect and enhance the natural products of the territory. The wildlife that reigns over the territory, will be our traveling companion.
In the winery after the story about the production, we will taste a few glasses of wines, representative of the company, accompanied by a selection of typical local cheeses, bread and oil of our production.
And between a glass of wine, an anecdote and a bite, your gaze will be able to get lost in the vastness of the rolling hills that surround us, embraced by the snow-capped mountains of Gran Sasso and Majella.
The company's production philosophy is to respect and enhance the territory and its products as much as possible.
This is reflected not only in the care of the vines in the field, but especially in the winery where the use of steel and less of barriques is chosen and by taking advantage of the indigenous yeasts present, so as to preserve the natural characteristics of the grapes. The Torre Raone winery produces 9 labels, an expression of the flavors of the land and its fruits: a Trebbiano endowed with a distinct minerality and exotic freshness, a Pecorino with a strong, decisive and mischievous flavor that enhances the authenticity of the extreme flavors of Abruzzo cuisine and the various nuances of Montepulciano. From the Cerasuolo, harmonious, floral, elegant and delicate, to the Montepulciano: the classic, fresh, fruity, elegant and refined Montepulciano that shows maturity despite its youth, to the Riserva, a modern, fresh and mature Montepulciano, charming, but the son of an ancient marquee planted in 1974, ending with the San Zopito, a unique, inimitable and unforgettable Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Terre dei Vestini" named after the Patron Saint of Loreto Aprutino.
