Tenuta San Marcello

Tenuta San Marcello was born in 2009 when Massimo and Pascale, with their two children, decided to leave Milan and move to San Marcello, a small village in the hinterland of Senigallia in the Marche region. They thus started their dream, to dedicate themselves to hospitality and viticulture, respecting the traditions and rhythms of nature. Located on the beautiful hills of the Marche region with a salt water swimming pool surrounded by a panoramic view of vineyards and mountains, the old farmhouse in Contrada Melano has been renovated with bio-building techniques and low environmental impact to offer a welcome under the sign of sustainability.

Today Tenuta San Marcello produces autochthonous wines with traditional methods and, more recently, natural wines in amphora which can be tasted in combination with the dishes of the Osteria del Vignaiolo of the estate. A small reality where you can spend intense moments of happiness between letting yourself be pampered and sweet doing nothing.

WINE CELLAR

The magical encounter with Lacrima di Morro d'Alba brings Pascale and Massimo to plant 4 hectares of vineyard, thanks to which they start the production of two of the most important autochthonous wines of the Marche region: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. From the beginning the choice is oriented towards the principles of biodynamics and biodiversity, with the use of natural micro-organisms and essential extracts of seaweeds and herbal teas of medicinal plants: no pesticides and chemical fertilizers but green manure to enhance the characteristics of the clayey soil.

The harvest is carried out entirely by hand and pressing takes place within an hour from the harvest to preserve the maximum integrity of the fruit.

During the fermentation process, the heat produced is used to heat the water used by the estate through the geothermal system. This philosophy has brought the winery closer and closer to the production of natural wines in amphora, bringing back to life the ancient methods used by Picenes more than 2000 years ago, the highest expression of a sustainable agriculture which exalts the quality of vines, milestones of viticulture in the Marches region.
