Experience information
With this experience, you will enjoy an authentic picnic surrounded by the greenery of our vineyards.
The experience includes a guided tour of the vineyards and winery, after which you will receive our basket containing: pizza, black olive pâté, focaccia, a platter with cheese and cold cuts, seasonal fruit, and the dessert of the day.
Included will be a bottle of water, a bottle of wine per couple from our selections (white, rosé, and red), cutlery, glasses, and a blanket to lay on.
You can choose from our Vernaccia di San Gimignano D.O.C.G. Vigna del Sole, our Toscana Rosato I.G.T. In Rosa, or our Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. Poggio al Vento.
- The guided tours of the vineyards and winery will start at 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
- You can pick up the basket starting from 10:30 AM and it must be returned by 6:00 PM.
- If you plan to arrive at a different time than 10:30 AM, it is advisable to leave a note regarding this during the booking for better service.
- The assignment order of the Chic Nic Areas varies depending on: number of participants, custom requests, and booking order.
- In case of bad weather, the experience will be converted into a tasting of equal or greater value.
- Refunds and cancellations are acceptable up to 48 hours before the start of the experience.
At the time of receiving the basket, a document may be requested as a deposit. In case of damage to the basket or picnic area, a penalty will be required. Host information
San Gimignano is a hill town in Tuscany located southwest of Florence. Surrounded by 13th-century walls, the focal point of its historic center is Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square flanked by medieval houses. The skyline of medieval towers is dominated by the stone Torre Grossa. In San Gimignano, Pietraserena extends on both sides of the hill, towards the North-Northeast.
Since 1966, the company's estates have experienced constant territorial expansion, starting from the initial approximately 7 hectares to reach the current extension of about 42 hectares. Being in the heart of the Municipality of San Gimignano, the main grape variety at the beginning was naturally Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the first wine to obtain DOC status in Italy. Subsequently, Sangiovese was planted, the main grape variety of Tuscany and all of Italy, which in our company gives life to our most representative “crus,” Caulio and Poggio al Vento.
Each vineyard, defined and circumscribed, has its distinctive name, from which we draw the grapes that are vinified separately. Once the wine is obtained, various blends are made that have always characterized our bottles.
