The name "Court of the Winds" derives from the particular conjunction of winds that blow constantly in this area. Their presence allows a fog-free Mediterranean climate, which promotes the health of the vines during the growing season and of the grapes during harvest including also sea winds that ensure a long ripening and excellent quality of the grapes.

The winery has a long history dating back to 1943, when the Pieri family bought the Piancornello estate. Here we cultivate 5 hectares of vineyards (including 2.80 hectares dedicated to Brunello) and 3 hectares of olive groves. Both are harvested by hand.

Our wine is produced and aged in our cellar, which is temperature- and humidity-controlled and is divided into two different areas: one for vinification with steel tanks and the other for aging, with oak barrels and 25 hl wooden casks that we use to age our Brunello di Montalcino.

In the grounds of Corte dei Venti there are also 3 hectares of centuries-old olive trees, such as Olivastra, Correggiolo and Moraiolo. The olives, always harvested by hand, we take them immediately to the oil mill where, thanks to the cold milling system, they are transformed into an extra virgin olive oil with unique characteristics.
