Area of production : Land located at the contrada Iampenne / Chianzano in Montemarano
Type of vinification : The grapes harvested at the time of their full ripeness, after destemming and crushing are subjected to fermentation with intense maceration. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels for a period of 12-18 months. Then its aging is conducted in steel barrels for about 2 years. Once bottled,before marketing it completes its aging period in bottle for about a year.
Average annual production : About 3500 bottles
Organic Characteristics : Intense ruby red color.
Our aroma fruity, complex, with notes of licorice and vanilla on an elegant background of small berries.
On the palate dry, warm and soft. A full-bodied, ample wine to accompany spicy pasta dishes, roasted meats, medium-aged cheeses and cured meats.
Yield per hectare at the ratio in grapes : 50 ql./hectare with kg. 1.60 per plant
