Greco is one of the oldest and most flourishing grape varieties in Italy, mentioned in some written records as far back as the first century BC, when it is said to have been grafted from the Greek region of Thessaly.
Further references to its history can be found in a fresco found in the ancient city of Pompeii as well as in the words of Pliny the Elder.
Robust and long-lived, Greco is an indigenous grape variety cultivated for centuries in Irpinia.
Land from which it has taken great personality and evident mineral notes, characters maximally expressed in the Greco di Tufo wine from these grapes produced, awarded the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita in 2003.
